Oil skimmer of drum type is designed to eliminate oil contamination from water surface. It can be used by companies of oil-producing, oil-transporting and oil-refining industry, as well as by services of extraordinary situations. As driven engine the one of air cooling is used of “ChTZ-Uraltrac” Ltd manufacturing of 12 hp capacity. Skimmer as power unit comprises diesel hydraulic station DGS-12, oil collector, pump driven by hydromotor, set of high-pressure hoses.

Experimental lot of equipment have passed experimental testing in Trade Industrial Enterprise "Pokachevneftegaz" ("Lukoil – Western Siberia” Ltd). In period June – August of 2002 each equipment worked 1800 hours (on average 20 hours per day and night) ensuring skimmer capacity from 12 to 16 m3/hour.
According to requirements of oil-and-gas workers equipment is developed and startup lot of equipment DGS - 12.1 is manufactured. One of developed assembly was represented in Tyumen on IX World Fair "Oil and gas – 2002. Conversion and Engineering Industry for TEK” that took place in September 2002 where it was rewarded with medal "…for development, manufacturing and start of series of diesel hydraulic station DGS – 12 for oil workers." On IV Moscow World Shop of innovations and investments in February 2004 “ChTZ-Uraltrac” Ltd is rewarded with silver medal for number of developments. In 2005 on Oil skimmer NS-16 the certificate on typical approval of the RUSSIAN SEA REGISTER of NAVIGATION is received.
